There is indeed no loss when you loose a game. So why did they split up competitive and casual games? This only results in longer waiting times to find an opponent. I think it should be possible to include their own ladder system. Look at a simple iOS game like Clash of Clans, which has a very cool ranking system, and even rewards the top 3 clans in a certain period! You can also loose points there when you fail to offer good defense. and there is a revenge button! That's what I would've loved to have seen in ACR! I was a bit dissapointed that they didn't make a "real" ranking system. It's still: those who play most (I don't have the time as a working family guy) will be in the top ranks... Unless of course you loose EVERY game... But hey, if you have time you just play some more It really feels like a step back when they split the matchmaking system, without implementing a cool ladder system!

What does the red plus mean? I asked the same thing, no one has been able to answer that yet. It does come and go so it does indicate something. I just don't know what.

Hello,
Here is how the competitive rating system works: - Each game, you get 5 points for a win / 2 for a stalemate / 0 for a loss - Each day you get 5 bonus matches with a rating x10 multiplier * The number in the red cicrcle next to the competitive button tells you how many bonus match you have left (+ means more then 19) - The rating is reset every 2 months
So basically, it means that you need to perform in your first 5 matches each day (but you can still keep on playing to grind a few more points). If you missed a day, you can still play those matches the next day. As the current rating started the 1st of august (thanks apple for their reviewing system) every one should have more than a 100 remaining bonus matches to play...
This system was chosen because of Gamecenter limitations (for example, you cannot decrease a score in gamecenter...). The true solution will be to move away from Gamecenter but this is still in progress.
Marc
PS: The rating system is not linked with the Credits you can win each day...

Thanks for the explanation.
What about the match making system? Is it based on level or rank or...? It seems like it is totally random like before. Noobs still meet veterans?

Once again, Gamecenter does not allow any matchmaking system beside splitting players into different groups. That's why we created casual and competitive to prevent new comers to run into hardcore players.
Therefore, I would encourage everyone to stick to competitive when playing with tuned Sequences...

Cool system, good solution!
But, does that mean your daily 5 matches stack infinitely? As in if you were away for a month, then you'll have 30x5 multiplyers waiting in the bank? That's a bit much, they should be capped at a certain level?

Thanks for all the answers. So far I like the sound of this. It's a lot better then myself and others had thought it was. And maybe one day we can keep our fingers crossed to move away from Game Center.

That's a bit much, they should be capped at a certain level? I don't know - it seems fair to me. Each two month period gives us 60 or so days to play, so 300 matches per person that count. Assuming that our number of matches that count also resets every two months, I don't see an issue with it. Both the person who can play every day and the person who can only play once every two months (but somehow has 20 hours available to play ACR that day) have the same chance at topping the leaderboard, and so does every person in between those extremes. In short, why cap it at all (beyond a bi-monthly reset, of course)?

Thanks for explaining, Marc! It is a bit better than I innitially thought you set up the system! It does seem like it is the best you can do with the limitations of GC. Hopefully ACR can move away from that someday soon.

Is there an indicator somewhere that tells me if I hit my 500 Animus Credits limit for the day yet? That's gone from the interface now...

It's really disapointing to see that most limitations come from Apple and their Game Center system. Ok, it's a cheap solution for App that want to add pvp to their games but it's such a crap when you want to do thing properly that I just can't wait for Ubi to get away from GC.
*I want a true competitive mode in this awesome game*
I don't get why a win is 5 points. It should be X (currently X=5x10 but it can be anything) or 0 imo and this would allow the current system to be much more competitive. 5 games per day, do you best or go back in casual mode practicing.
Is this to avoid players going in Casual mode with strong decks (crushing noobs)? Not good...
What's worst! Scaring noobs or boring actual players? I might think that the second is worst simply because current competitive players have certainly spend a few money in the game and deserve a true competitive environement. I know that noobs have to be protected nowadays for the sake of the future of the game... but active players too when you think about it.
Don't let us down Ubi! Give us something better! :]
