(N/C) With Great Power - no Defender

I've had With Great Power played against me twice in the last two days where my opponent won because it scored without applying Defender. I.e., I had points in regions that didn't get decrimented before his score increased. Both times they had Ancient Library in play, so that may be related. I seems like every 3rd deck I play against lately is a site deck using With Great Power, so surely others have seen this...

I know that I was just one of those opponents, and I've been wondering the same thing about With Great Power, but I think that it's still working as intended - it's just potentially confusing when it's used on an Ancient Library with Deceptive on it.

As you may have noticed in the Incognito thread, deceptive played on Ancient Library makes it score twice in all regions (for 6 points per region, assuming it's still at its base 3 influence).

As nearly as I can figure it, I think that WGP is working like this when a deceptive Ancient Library is in play:

1) Assuming AL has influence of 3;
2) 3 is subtracted from the two regions that are affected thanks to Deceptive;
3) The AL ability is turning that into 6 points in all regions still, so;
4) I score 6 in each region.

I'll pay closer attention to the numbers the next few times I'm able to use that combo against someone who has points in a region, but that's my best guess.

So basically:

4-4-4
-------
6-6-6

(Deceptive AL in central region)

Becomes:

1-4-1
-------
10-10-10

I realize that seems out of whack, because it does look like I'm basically getting 9 points in two of the regions, so I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this to figure out exactly what is going on.

I've seen it as well. I was quite surprised I lost thanks to this card. Maybe somebody has a memory dump so we can analyze the code regarding defender and deceptive scoring.

I also used with great power+acient library, and met this bug too.

I don't think the bug is specific to Ancient Library. I think the bug is related to WGP added on to a Site that can score in multiple regions (i.e. Sites with Deceptive, Ancient Library, etc.). I've noticed this bug with my Sacred Vault combo... WGP works correctly on Sites without Deceptive but when I use WGP on Sites with Deceptive, it somehow doesn't act like it has Defender on it.

After doing some testing, I retract what I said earlier. Defender doesn't seem to be getting applied in any region.

I thought briefly that maybe the wording of WGP left some wiggle room for it not happening with Deceptive sites, but after review I don't think so.

I think coolkendude is right - Deceptive sites are messing this up somehow (perhaps Deceptive takes precedence over Defender or something).

Yep. I was crafting a doomsday crusher deck that ran deceptive sites and noticed this. Apologies to valiant opponent I squashed because of it.
