Ok, this is a very simple, very quick, grinding deck. I have emphasised simplicity and consistency over everything else. There are no counters (other than the potential to block agents with your own zero cost agents). The idea is to win so fast you don't need them.
I haven't put it in competitive because it would never work in a tournament, but in QM it's extremely competitive. This is the fastest site deck I have yet seen. I have never lost to another site rush deck (site control deck, sometimes). And yes, an Assassin stronghold completely ruins this deck. It does to most things.
5 Romani Pickpocket
5 Paola
5 Damma Rossa
5 Political Patronage
5 Forced Charity
5 Bearer of mixed Tidings
5 San Gimignano
5 Lair of Romulus
5 Ospedale Degli Innocenti
5 Romani Camp
Simple as can be. All sites give +5 influence (except romani camp). If you can get down 2, 5+ sites, you don't even need Romani Camp if they don't draw their anti site.
Sometimes you are able to pull of the site grand slam. Day 2 drop a 5+ site, then day 3, as the timer is about to move from right to left, drop a 5+ site in each of the other two regions, and a romani camp in the original site region. Sit back, drink a cup of tea, earn your winnings.
Romani Camp and Romani Pickpocket are also there for the times someone tries to slow you down with their own (smaller sites). The instant one score from romani camp is why I prefer it to other deceptive sites, combined with +1 from Romani Pickpocket it can help you win a full day earlier (before the opponent gets their full agent rush/anti site), if they are trying to site block you.
Playing deceptive all but eliminates the drawback of playing San Gimignano. I leave it to you to figure the optimal play sequence.
This deck breaks the rule of always playing a site as the counter is about to switch from left to right. If you can play a site before the counter hits the middle of the screen, and have a Romani camp in hand, you do it. The risk of it being destroyed without scoring is worth the potential of getting a deceptive boost down as the timer goes right to left.
Questions:
What about discarded sacred vault, followed by deceptive site?
This is quicker. Because that strategy only targets one region, it is very easy to shut down. Once you have blocked that, you can just spam your our own sites.
What about Ottoman Gunman/Sofia's office/Sofia's home?
To slow to stop you, unless you get a very bad hand. Your romani pickpockets and camp give you the boost for the win.
What about media deceptive agents with threat?
Can be tough, but it is still winnable. If they get a perfect opening hand, obviously not. The key here is obviously timing your blocks to slow their agents down, and dropping region influence with Paola. If they don't get their magnetic personality early enough, you still win
What about traditional anti site?
I just beat someone who played 2 surprise speed Venzia San Polo, and a surprise speed Maria Thorpe. As long as your draw is decent, you just keep playing sites. If they are trying to counter everything you do, they don't have time to build their own win cons.
What about counter decks?
I haven't yet run into a deck with enough counters since the counter nerf.
Why don't you play militia intimidation?
It's not necessary. I did try it with, but it actually slows you down/takes away from other necessary aspects of the deck. Every card in the deck right now has a purpose. There is so little counter in this meta that you don't need it to dodge that, and the heavy spam nature of this deck means you just overwhelm the opponent, you don't need to surprise them.
What do you do when someone plays Sofia Sartor?
Double tap home, wait 20 seconds, try again.
All comments and suggestions welcome.
But before you comment, please ask yourself one thing. Is my proposed change going to improve the consistency/draw/speed of win?
If not, then you're probably trying to add some control elements, which is not the point of the deck. I'll read those comments, maybe even learn something, but probably not make any of those changes to this deck
