I've been having a LOT of fun and pretty good runs with this new creation of mine (my 1st that i\m really proud of!).

I've tried about 8 versions all working on the same concept of Leonardos' workshop (which gets points for each card you draw) and drawing cards regularly as much as possible once they are down to get instant points. That way, I am paying for my points AND getting more cards to use to pay for more points - works really well. Once it clicks it's got a really surprising pace and has been pretty devastating, and can win the game in a number of ways depending on your luck.

There are 3 viable starts so chances are you won't need to mulligan, but you really want to see:-
Early income advantage OR early counters OR if you are lucky enough to have 2 workshops in 1st hand, then might be worth the risk of going without full cover in income or counters.
…so usually mulligan if you don't have one of these areas covers in you 1st hand.

Then always fill site slots to give the Field Study more clout for COST 4
Usually use Quick Study for a workshop - get them down as quick as posse to give you options.

It developed from a pure raw brute power deck, which won MASSIVELY in my first few games with it, but then I lost pretty badly agains specific decks so I noticed it's many weaknesses, so I slowed it down a bit and ended with what I have posted. It's a lot safer against a variety of decks, and has the alternate win condition with the Lair or Romulus - so if i don't manage to get 2 workshops down pretty early on, I can sometimes fall back to this option to scrape 10 points on 1 sector at least.

It still has weakness against a discard focussed deck, and a deck built around Castel Sant Angelo beat me too.

I'm sure some of you pros can tweak it to make it hum along!

Daring Experiment would be a good one in here, but alas I have none.

Castel St' Angelo?? I never knew decks existed around that I guess me having only 1 copy of it made the point

I was just talking about the Merch guild/Leo deck that I have - completely all-out income boosting + card drawing power that ramps and keeps running, same concept I guess.

I find that slowing decks like this down too much is counter intuitive as it then becomes a luck game - your job is to win first, cos you won't be able to disrupt anything but the most moderate offensive enough to come back and win if you're late to the points game. Although SE is just plain necessary I don't know about Change of Plans, Condottiero, or Power to the People. You should be able to overwhelm him with your Workshop drop.

Do you have Enough merch guilds to supplement this deck with?

One of the strategies I really liked using when playing with this kinda deck is to income boost to 5I - that means one plentyful crap - and hold back on all other boosters - and drop your 5 cost at max gold (merch guild in my case and leo's workshop in yours) BEFORE you start boosting again. That first wait is excruciating but SO worth it. Well, it was when I played merch guild

... I will use this deck of yours as a starting point for my new deck, if you don't mind. I have been preaching Daring Experiment in the "Balance" thread, and your deck is exactly where that card (in combination with Leonardo's workshop) would win you a game. I love your idea to use it in combination with Crime cards. But I see more in using it icm media or order, because of the resource boosting cards you have in there...
Wouldn't Controlled Arson be a better alternative to Condottiero? I'm also not so sure about Change of Plans... Hope to play against you/this deck online soon. Curious how it holds up... In the meantime I will create my own version asap.

Btw, How is Against All Odds holding up for you? I've been using Mass Movement in my latest deck with great success, as it is the perfect counter to all contemporary decks out there... I was thinking of using Against All Odds in my Lantz deck as an answer to all Basillica, Merchant Guild, Lantz, Carnefice, Cesare and what-not decks.
