As a start, I'd like to ask if anyone recently started playing are on this forum - if so, this first part is for you Do you want to play against advanced, more interesting decks (not necessarily ridiculously powerful kill-you-in-3-minutes decks) with more variety, or would you rather play against other players with similar decks running similar cards? I ask cos there are tons of new players, it is good almost no two games in a row with the same person But! 1) I'm getting a bit bored battling engineer warriors and pikemen... It appears that they are all decently constructed, 50 card decks, but they're all pretty much the same. And that's not to say completely weak - I've had many losses due to letting my guard down, or just having a fail experimental deck. 2) cos of the above, we REALLY REALLY need a good matchmaking system, and that's up to Ubi and the guys. I can just imagine that the new guys would have a hard time once every couple games running into a seasoned player with cards they've not even heard of. 3) this point is not actually a but. Kudos to some of they new players, you've made your decks really well and balanced. And thanks to the new balances too, even the basic rush can quite often overwhelm a "good" deck, if not careful. I am hopeful with all this influx of new players. Now, let's keep them (and hopefully level everyone up!)

there was a jump from 8000 players to 30000 recently. Don't know how it happened. At same moment matching system went down(it was present before)
This has to be connected to the last patch which introduce chinise language in the interface.

It cool how the number of players has taken off. I played virtually all starter decks yesterday, also lots of nonsensicle player names. I wonder if this is because we can't see the Japanese characters so it's just replaced with a roman equivalent? And welcome arriat

A new leader board and ranking/ matchup system is needed I really hope this gets implemented in the next update, though I've not heard any news of it. Would it be a major thing to create? I mean I can see how an AH is going to take a while but I imagine ranking/matchup would be small in comparison?

It was Japanese in the last update.
@marc - are u reading this? I swear if you added Chinese, you will have a TON of new players.
Really. The market is huge. Ask Brontos.

I am seeing a lot of asians on - names like "Super Singaporean" and "Red Tea Master" (in Mandarin) tell me it's not just the Japanese that are playing.
I know that a LOT of non Japanese people play Japanese games - even much more than English games - cos it's a popular game language so they can make out basic stuff.

I think it has a lot more to do with the fact the game went free.

crazygambit hit it on the head i think
Free shot the app up in the itunes charts thus more awareness. I didnt know about the game until itunes had it listed in the top charts.
As a new user I think its a good move...let the credit purchases drive the revenue.

yeah of course it was the app going free. As I mentioned in another thread, I don't think anyone realises the massive difference in Twitter traffic on Recollection before and after it went free. I keep an eye on it a bit, and it's REALLY massive, like more than 10 times. Welcome Javadave! So, would you, as a new player, prefer to play against a bunch of same first sequence decks, or something a bit more interest? I'm posting what I call 5R decks which only has 5 rares, no more. I play them when I see people whose names I don't know, so that a) It's more interesting and b) The new players can see more than their usual collection of first sequence cards and opponents. Limited format decks sub-forum: acreedrecollection.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lowbDoes anyone else do anything different against this influx of new players?

Thanks. For me I like to see what is out there, work a bit harder for the win and learn from those with more experience. Just don't wipe me out in 3 minutes I like your 5R approach. It may be the best solution until the system matches based on ranking.

Kudos for this thread... I love the fact that more people are trying this game, and hopefully a handful will stick around for the long run. I just invested another 40 euros in the game, because I think Ubisoft deserves it (and I needed more cards HEHE). Ubisoft, please keep improving this game! I play it so often, it's becoming like I played Magic in the old days... It's just that awesome

For me, the principle is pretty simple - if I've heard of the name before, it's likely to be a seasoned player. If it's someone I haven't met before, I play a 5R deck. The chances of this being right is pretty good But sometimes I do bump into non-noobs with big rare decks. Or at least medium rare decks, and sometimes I even win those games I think a well-constructed deck with good skill can still beat all-rare decks, and it just makes my (hopefully) 10 games a day (more likely 15-20 lol) that much more interesting
