Hi all, it's great to see all the new members and posts here! I feel like at lot of people who visit here who may be in the same boat as me. I have invested a fair amount into the game and while I have a copy of nearly all the memories , I've not got the right amount to try a lot of these decks here, although they look quality Anyway I thought I would start a new thread for strategies and combos to work around this as best as possible to maybe help people like me . If people have any suggestions please post them here it would be a great help.

I'll start it off, i probably sound like a broken record with "clothes make the man" but this is an excellent way to try and enhance your own deck/counter another.

That's why like most people said, ubi needs to GET THE AUCTION house up!
The top players are playing with extremely tuned decks. They probably are incredibly lucky, or spent a ton of money to get the cards they need. (I have like 12 Forli and 16 Rodigo 5/5 Priest, I need the Ezios!!)
clothes make the man is excellent, and underused. great card.

Cards that target Templar factions (Francesco Vecellio, Mass Movement, Against all odds) and Assassin factions (Radical Demotion, Lucrezia Borgia, High-stakes Negotiation, Raving Drunkard) are decent enough replacements for hectic rares of the same nature... Provided you study the metagame enough... +1 for Clothes make the man, in the right decks. Lair of Romulus is a decent poor man's Forli or San Grimignano I'm sure there are lots of cool replacements too Although I would love love love the Auction House, it was after MANY rounds of boosters before I even got 4 court orders. And Mysterious Strangers.

The good thing is that you can still be competitive and get enjoyment out of the game with a limited number of rares.
I've been running a successful thief deck with only 2 copies of lanz. Discreet calling means I have them quickly. Sure if I'm up against a tuned deck the odds are against me but I can still have a decent chance.
My strategy so far has been never to rely on a specific card/combo to win the game and until you can put a tuned deck together try to have sites and agents, it increases your chances.
I have 2 copies of Secret Catacombs that go in all my crime decks, a simple counter but often a game winner.
