[Mod: This is a bit obsolete considering the updates that has come and gone]
Im gonna go through all memories Id consider as Gold/Income Boost, explain them and rate them. If you are new into this game this might help you alot. Consider that unless you play a rush deck you will need 10-13 ressource Boosters in sequence generally. Dont put to many costy boosters in it though.
I leave out the clearly bad boosters, like Young Farmer or Horse Merchant.
Gold memories:
-Plentiful Crop: Very good 0 Cost Boost, that gives you a kick start. 4/5
-Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained: The boost is huge, but also for your enemy. You might help your enemy out of a bad draw. You cannot know if u play it early if it helps him more than you. Stay away from it, unless you have a real good plan. Also its rare. 3/5
-Merchant Ship: Good card. Consider this when you dont have action slots for Plentiful Crop, or your strategy includes something with sites. 3/5
-City Stables: guess with pontificial and Field Studies, before you get some really good cards. If you use it early the boost is to low, and later it is to weak 2/5
-Borgia Mine: Its a solid card, but to expensive for just an income boost. its quit nice for the constant influence, if your enemy doesnt use a strategy with sites. If he uses a site destruction on it its worth it. But the colours have usually better options that this one for influence or income. 2/5
-Pilfer Supplies: This is a card, if you can boost your income fast enough, but then ned to play many high costy cards. Its not a booster and usually you will not need it.
-Honest Worker: Not a Booster but constantly some gold return. Usually only good if you can draw your deck like crazy, with far more than 5 draw cards.
Blue memories:
-Faux-Pas: Stops enemy Ressource booster, and gives you instant +1. It pays itself back in a day and you stopped something from enemy. Never include more than 3. 4/5
-Forced Inheritance: The best booster in the game in my opinion. Its common Templar card, its cheap its instant, a huge boost and pays itself back in under a day 5/5
-Torre Grossa: Takes 1.5 days to pay back, its generally nice, but just for a ressource booster to weak. If you cannot use the site for anything else, you should use better cards. 3/5
Red memories:
-Heathen Folower: Its ok, pays itself after 1.5 days and you can get rid of 5 cards from your deck. Usually you dont want to see multiple copies of it in your ahnd though. 3/5
-Discarders: *Divine Intervention/Misterious Stranger/Let he who is without sin* Very good cards that generate nice income, and cept divine create card advantage. Divine costs your enemy a card as well, and its fast and can tear apart control decks. Also nice that the discard boots itself without to many extra gold cards. 4/5
-Basilica di San Pietro: Very good, doesnt occupy your action slots, and 2 can replace each other for an eternety. Also work for site strategies from red and the card that gets better when u play churches. 5/5
-Venitian Church: Expensive, but Red's only big income Booster. Max 2-3 in your sequence normally. If you can use the site for your strategy its a good card, otherwise it might be to slow, also takes over 1.5 days to pay back. 3/5
Green memories:
-Knowledge has a Price: Very risky, but very potent. You use this card if you want to boost out some big winner, like Ezio or Lair of Romulus very quick. You plan on having 5 score cards very early with it. Dont use it as a general Bosoter. 3/5 (In the right deck its a 5/5*
-Knowledge is Power: Nice card, pays itself after 1.5 days, but you loose nothing and you thin your deck. Its really strong but nothing special. 4/5
-Converted Chapel: This is the venitian Church in green. Falls into the same category. Green doesnt have alot, but there stregh are somewhere else. 3/5
Purple memories:
-Dama Rosa: its like Plentiful Crop, but doesnt use an action slot, can block, and combo with Courtesan or Art Gallery or other sites that boost Agents. *Blue has 2 of them* 5/5
-Political Patronage: Purple doesnt have alot, but both cards are a blast. This card lets you cheat into play Ezio by day one, or an early lair of romulus or similair stuff. You can go above your limit with it. This is a really strong card, that can trigger many purple strategies and overrun your enemy pretty fast. *Early exit stage right anyone?* 5/5
Black memories:
-Courtesans and Thieves: They have quit some nice Income Boost overall. They are not good enough just for the income boost, but a courtesan deck or a thieve deck, doesnt need much extra income boost, if any, to get their gears rowing. 4/5
-Rosa in Fiore: This is quit good, it looses you a card though, but pay itself back quit fast, doesnt use an action slot and +3 is quit alot.
-Forces Charity: Perfect for black. +2 is nice, takes 1.5 to pay back though, but you dont loose a card and black doenst have much else. 4/5
Now remember this is not set to stone, but I hope it helps the newer players. Possible Set ups for example:
Blue/Green Control:
2-3x Plentiful Crop
2-3x Faux-Pas
4-5x Knowledge is Power
4-5x Forced Inheritance
Black/Green Control:
5x Knowledge is Power
5x Forced Charity
2-3 Rosa in Fiore *or some cheap cards that boost +1 but actually do something on board like Paola*
Purple/Green Control, for faster decks leave out knowledge is Power, and keep 4-5 dama and 5 Political:
3-4x Dama Rossa
4-5x Political Patronage
5x Knowledge is Power
Red/Green Control (Divinte Intervention is also perfect, but its rare assassin):
3-5x Plentiful Crop
5x Knowledge is Power
5x Basilico die San Pietro
0-3x Venitian Church
Purple/Blue Control or Quick Threads:
3-5x Plentiful Crop/Dama Rossa
5x Political Patronage
5x Forced Inheritance
Red/Blue Control
5x Divine Intervention
5x Forced Inheritance
5x Basilico di San Pietro
0-2x Venitian Church
The rest is hard, havnt build or seen a good Black deck that combos with anything else than green. Purple/Red I havnt seen really so far either. so Id prolly use for
Purple/Red: *Maybee exit stage right to Silvio and mass Destruction*
5x Divine Intervention
2x Venitian Church
4x Dama Rossa
4x Political Patronage
