Does anyone know if there's a way to accomplish this? If there is I might be interested in trying (mostly so that my friends can watch, but hey if other people join in, the more the merrier!)

So... You wanna set up a video from your iPad live online? I've not seen an app that does that, I assume something like that will only be available for jailbroken iPads. If you can figure out how to stream from a video output from iPad, you can use the hdmi or VGA out adapters to set something up.
I hdmi out to my tv and record from my iPhone. I guess you can set up a live stream with skype from iPhone, but that's a bit of a schlepp.

How do Xbox and Playstation people do their recordings from the TV? I think I remember there was a separate device that could record your games, if so you could possibly try that.

On iPad 2 you can use a TV-out dongle to export the screen to a recording device (PC or hard-disk recorder), and go from there. This doesn't work on iPad 1.

That would be a Personal Video Recorder (PVR). I have a jailbroken iDevice so I have access to some recording tools such as the Display Recorder App which seems to be the only way as of now to record anything on the screen. Livestreaming from the iPad I have no clue unless maybe you had the program to view the iDevice on the computer and then use a livestreaming program to stream whats on your computer screen to the viewers. However I know some of those programs have a bit of a delay so make sure if you go that route to get one that isn't going to lag much. Also any sort of livestreaming will lag your internet depending on the quality your are streaming which will also affect your online play if you dont have a strong enough internet connection (which is why I don't live stream my Assassin's Creed Brotherhood/Revelations Multiplayer Games anymore).

Yes that is very true, streaming puts a lot of load on bandwidth, and usually (at least in my case) there's just not enough bandwidth to steam video AND play the game. Hell knows enough people complain about lag or the dreaded count down from 19 every 2 seconds thing.
