I used this card to great effect before update in my super fast pan/ri deck.
So, IMO, only great for combo instant win decks. This card is essentially, a cantrip effect - it does nothing for the board, but positions the hand for a better position in the future.
The question is: is it better off simply drawing the cards you want or to win; or better to draw a scientific memory?

In some decks you want to skip cards. Like a bounce deck, where your opponent is playing sites only, you need bounce cards that bounce sites. I would like to be able to pick them out, instead of drawing agent bounce cards... The day we can play with sideboards I will agree with you. Until then, I will consider (from now on) Scientific Method. Agreed, but how I play my current bounce deck is that it has such strong draw and income power that I will more likely than not have the correct solution in my hand, and part of that draw and income power is having knowledge is power over scientific method. So yeah, if you don't need the income or the draw power, go scientific method - its really better for a combo deck that has other stuff for income.

I'm 100% with Tuism about it.
Either you play a pure combo deck, and it's ok to have this in it for it's shuffling capacity. Or you don't play a pure combo deck and you should play something else.
This cards provides no benefit and costs you tempo, a spell slot, a card slot in your deck list and ressources. You need a strong combo to go with it to compensate for this.

I play it a lot. I find early game knowledge is power is better, but late game scientific espionage is WAY better. It disrupts the opponents hand, loses them a card, gains you a card, and often late game opponents play 18 res for a 9/9 agent, or doomsday etc. 4 gold to steal that away = instant win.

I also just run 2 or 3 of them.

I also find the choosing possibility very interesting. Just wanted to report a bug : I played this one and a quick study right after. No memory appeared for the quick study, so I couldn't select anything, so I couldn't get back to the board quite anoying !
