I find that discard strategies are only useful early game, late game discard cards just become absolutely useless as most people can play anything they have as soon as they draw them.
Even Let he who is without sin's +1 card advantage doesn't work anymore.
So you want a lot of discards so that you can spam it early on to get rid of threats, but late draws of discards become almost entirely useless... It's a conundrum, in my mind...
What do you guys think?

You need to chain the discard right after the cursor switches to left. This usually lets them discard the card they draw right away.
usually problem with discard is, to have a win condition. Its no use if u can discard his whole hand, but you have to fight his lone 2/2 drop and you draw more discard. Importnat to have enough draw and serious win condition.

Oooooh, haven't thought of that before, that's a great point. very little chance of people being able to see what they got, and play it in the right field in an instant. That changes things. A lot. And yes you're right - discard needs win con... Same as counters and card draw, really

Id use the Silvio deck I posted from AI as a basic and work from there. Goldbuildup there is pretty bad. Even if they amange to keep a counter silvio is safe: Allways

Citizens can soft-lock your opponent. Just activate their capacity every day just right after the cursor disapear onthe right of the screen, and they don't draw anymore. They won't have time (even with amazing reflexes) to play the card where it has to be played. That's a bit OP, so I play 3 of them in my Crime/Faith deck.

I now have new OP'd respect for discard Dannnng. Wonder if they'll "fix" that.

Yeah, I counter Citizens with every single card I can muster. They are nasty.

I lost to an interesting discard themed deck as well that featured citizens, silvo and splashed purple for a few other effects. it was pretty darn effective and very frustrating when I realized I was hand locked.

yeah citizens are the voidfire wand of AC Recollection. Not to say this TCG is able to create million different strategies/winning options with such a limited Card pool. This is great, allmost all TCGs start with only beatdown the first 1000 cards

well there's a few cards that give you an outright win, it's just looking out for it (and building decks to protect them) that's the skill, I guess. On the discard - I tried to time the attacks of Pious Wardens to achieve the lock effect - much harder to do, but doable for a while, then your attacks will get a bit later each turn, giving them a little bit more room to manoeuvre. But damn it's a scary lock Same as the resource lock the corrupt herald can get you in.

Actually, I don't know if it's because my network speed's not as awesome as other places, I can't get a reliable lock going - every day, no matter how i time it or spam it or time it riiiight on, I'll more likely than not lose a bit of time as it takes a whole day to activate > refresh > activate. I find that even myself can get out of a lock by playing quickly - it's just about knowing your deck. Reaction decks suffer the most, offensive decks know just where to drag the card to and drop quickly. I guess having a lock for a few days is good enough. And it's a bit of a saving grace against discard being called cheap
