okay im done with testing. i played 40 games and i lost a single one (my second game with this deck where i did a lot of mistakes). this stats make it my strongest deck and i just have to share it with you even though i never wanna face it myself.
-Agents: 5x mysterious stranger 5x heathen follower 5x carlo grimaldi
-Actions: -income boosts: 5x forced inheritance 3x divine intervention 5x kings order -cardadvantage: 5x preemptive strike 2x ancestral discovery -utility: 5x tactical upheavel 5x sudden exhaustion -Sites: 5x borgia tower
Playbook: this deck is a strong rush deck which gets rid of the strongest enemy threads by discard and counters. ancestral discoverys are most of the time used to bring back preemtives strikes or big enemy cards. heathen followers and kings order thin out your deck while giving you agents to boost with borgia tower. tactical upheavel and sudden exhaustion are used to gain verhand on the field. only use it for real threats since you soon enough got really strong unblockables on the field anyway. later in the game mysterious strangers are mainly used for discard locks to buy your grimaldis tons of time to score big points. early on they are a small resource boost and are helping you to get card advantage while still be a big threat to the opponent because of borgia towers.
as your starting hand any combination of the above cards should be fine. just avoid having more than 1 heathen follower and not 3 same cards of anything (exeption m. stranger - you can have 4 strangers paired with a bit income boost if you want to). so as you can see it is really hard to draw a real bad hand 2 times here.
if i had a AD more i would possibly replace it with one DI. rest of the deck is as intended
maybe this deck isnt that easy to play really correctly but it should be strong even for less experienced players. it faced every kind of deck and beat them all. even my last game where the opponent had 2 lanz at day 1 on the field lost with only having scored 3 points... try it and give feedback!

It looks really good actually! I love the heathens and Borgia tower combo, and the discard/counter/official combo looks deadly. Good one, it's like going back to the basics but with plenty of synergy. Love it!

Alright, I tried a ghetto version (since I dont have all the cards required). I was going to test it extensively, but a rain storm is affecting connectivity, do I'll give my initial thoughts. First, deck (original on left, ghetto on right) 5x mysterious stranger. G) 3 mysterious stranger 5x heathen follower. G) 4 heathen follower 5x carlo grimaldi. G) 5 Carlo Grimaldi -Actions: -income boosts: 5x forced inheritance. G) same 3x divine intervention. G) x 1 5x kings order. G) x3 Additional agent/ income boosters :3 x Theodore viscari, 3x danta moro, 1x gallows -cardadvantage: 5x preemptive strike. G) x1 2x ancestral discovery. G) none!!! Additional card advantage: 3x court order, 1x untimely end, 2x benvenetu -utility: 5x tactical upheavel. G) x5 5x sudden exhaustion. G) x4 Additional utility: 1x power to the people -Sites: 5x borgia tower. G) same Initial thoughts: I really like the concept, but the ghetto version balance is not working. There are 3 issues: 1) draw power: the missing draw power of preemptive strikes and by order of the king is really hurting, I'm sucking for cards to often 2) agent balance: to many low powered cards means I end up sitting with agents in my hand I can't play, which is useless 3) discard/ redraw concept not strong enough: this should be obvious by the cards I have had to swop in I'll play around with it some more once I have a good connection, I think I can make this work, but it will defiantly loose to the original

the Heathen Followers and Borgia Towers combo is awesome! Very cool idea indeed. I will definitely try this one... Thanks for sharing!

It makes me sad I don't have more Towers. It inspired me to make a purple/red Gallery deck though, which was lots of fun.

Wow! Nice dude! Making it as we speak! I have faced a TON of decks using the Tower recently (but they used militant weenies instead of heathens but they didnt last long against My San Gimignano) How does this deck hold up against that? Because I know your heathans and other mobs get pumped due to the tower, but what about Lastitude or Impending Pandemic/Gimignano decks? Also how does it old up against Heavy Discard? The deck looks phenomenal and can't wait to play it!

Tested it, fantastic. Only might really only have trouble with wipe-heavy decks, and even then the counters still have a chance of popping up often enough, if the discard hadn't taken them out first. Pure card advantage deck, great synergies even if Borgia tower doesn't come out. Great! I wonder if you need the forced inheritance though, they could be replaced by a slower but more useful booster, IMO. This deck has enough income without FI

I like the look of this as well, especially given most decks played right now. Have you played solid site rush decks or heavy counter? Curious how it does. If you add me I can try a couple things against it.

I played your deck last night, and it really shreds through everything I've encountered (so far). Only thing I replaced was By Order of the King, which I replaced by Papal Influence, which made it even more devastating. I did this, because like Tuism points out, I also noticed I sat on a lot of income with nothing (useful) to play in my hands, quite a few times... And I never had the feeling I needed to get Carlo out fast. ... But Kudos for this deck!!!

This deck has enough income without FI wipe heavy decks were yet no problem since they are rather slow which means i get fast points and strong grimaldis. also those wipes are expensive and hence they are discarded by my strangers most of the time. taking out FI would make it alot slower than it is. i seldom have too much income i have to say. its designed as a rush deck with cardadvantage which in my opinion makes it that strong. sure you could make it slower and get more in the direction of control but i guess that would make it vulnerable in many ways. really fast rushes would succeed (especially site rushes) and also discard would have an easier time. and it wouldnt be as effective against other control decks too then. however i agree that papal influence wouldnt be a bad choice here since its a rush card too but im just no big fan of it and i think a faster played grimaldi scores 5 points more too ^^

And I never had the feeling I needed to get Carlo out fast. ... But Kudos for this deck!!! hmm by order of the king is quite elementel for my idea. its in because i want to thin out the deck asap. this deck effectivly is made out of about 42-43 cards you could say (heathen follower counts as 1 and order of the king actually as 0 but i expect you to draw 1-2 grimaldis without order of king anyway). that makes you draw which cards faster? exactly the ones which prolong the game. that is stranger which wins one complete round for you. as well as preemptive strike which does the same and tactical upheavels which thin out the deck even more if used on grimaldis to boost them a bit. ancestral discovery is used to get back those preemptives u played so it also wins 2 rounds for you. so basically with thinning out your deck ALOT. you get a very high chance of locking your opponent completely while hitting him with strong grimaldis. ( and you can always ignore weak agents and resource boosters he plays since you can handle them without counters).

I tested your deck, too, the other day. I wound up playing a mirror match. That was a long slow match. I only have 4 Towers so I subbed in one Royal Intervention in its place. That RI turned out to be what won me the game. It doesn't really fit the deck, but you have to work with what you have.
